This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas media, and also has excellent corrosion resistance to hot concentrated lye. At the same time, it is resistant to corrosion from neutral solutions, water, seawater, air, organic compounds, etc. An important feature of this alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks and has good cutting performance.

Nickel alloy ingots or castings are mainly produced by vacuum melting and casting. The ingots are first hot rolled, extruded or forged, then rolled or stretched after intermediate heat treatment, and finally processed into the desired finished product. Nickel alloys can be used in the following industries:
1. Calcination furnaces. For example, they are used to calcine and produce high-performance corundum, calcine chromite to produce ferrochrome, and recover nickel used as a catalyst in petrochemicals.
2. Chemical and petrochemical industries, using them to prepare new steam cracking crude gasoline furnaces to produce hydrogen, etc.
3. Automation devices. Such as catalytic support systems and spark plugs.

Nickel-base alloys include Ni-base superalloy, Ni-base corrosion resistant alloy, Ni-base wear-resistant alloy, Ni-based precision alloy, Ni-base shape memory alloy and Hydrogen storing alloy. The above alloys are widely used in aviation, shipbuilding, the chemical industry, electronics, medicine and the energy industry.

Incoloy 825 alloy is rich in Cr, Mo, and Cu, and has good overall corrosion resistance to both oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids. It has extremely high corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid. Due to the high content of Cr, Mo, and Ni, it has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments. Incoloy 825 alloy controls the carbon content at an extremely low level, is not easily sensitized during welding, and has low sensitivity to intergranular corrosion.

Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy (about 67% Ni – 23% Cu) that is resistant to sea water and steam at high temperatures as well as to salt and caustic solutions. Alloy 400 is a solid solution alloy that can only be hardened by cold working. This nickel alloy exhibits characteristics like good corrosion resistance, good weldability and high strength. A low corrosion rate in rapidly flowing brackish or seawater combined with excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking in most freshwaters, and its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions led to its wide use in marine applications and other non-oxidizing chloride solutions.

There are two major categories of added alloying elements: one is the solid solution strengthening elements that can form a solid solution with nickel, such as copper, cobalt, iron, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, manganese, etc. The other is the elements that form an intermediate compound strengthening phase with nickel, such as aluminum, silicon, beryllium, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium and tantalum.
